It was up this morning at 9 a.m. EST. I tried uploading it again but apparently our host isn't allowing us to transfer any .php pages to thew server. They're looking into fixing it.

I REALLY enjoyed this review; Nice job, Shoegaze.
Amazingly, the book this is based on, a purportedly autobiographical true story by uber-hack Lorenzo Carcaterra, is worse than the movie. That Perry Mason moment with the DeNiro character producing the "two Knicks tickets!" is a howler for the ages in both versions.
Pitt and Patric look SO fucking haggard in this movie. And isn't Minnie Driver in it? She SUCKS.
Bacon is just ridiculous in it. Just a total monster, with exactly one dimension...
Hell, you've made me want to see it again. |

Jeez, he's not even a human in this film, he's just this evil fairy tale kind of creature, all leering and mean and eager to rape for no discernable reason. I thought screenwriters learned a long time ago that the very best villains have some degree of humanity or motivation or depth? Bacon's character is totally random. They show up in juvie jail. Bamn, he's there with his pants down. Rape follows. And that's it. He's just some hobgoblin and little more.
Sadly, my brother really recommended this movie to me something fierce, saying it was really worth watching. He won't be pleased to read this at all.

Well, you've got to remember that his character was nothing more than the pure, distilled terror as  remembered by four little, victimized boys.
