I always liked this flick, and was glad to introduce it to my son. I really liked the little world created for this story (expanded upon nicely in the much-preferred book upon which this was based, as I recall). It's a good little film, at times overlooked.
Those extras aren't enough to get me to buy this, though, and I don't care about the new transfer since the lad is the primary viewer now, not me. We already own a copy, and that's good enough. He doesn't care if it's widescreen.
Good review, Monty. |

I enjoyed this one too, Monty. Nice work. I haven't seen NIMH but this review has actually peaked my interest.

Oh, definitely rent it, at least, but avoid the crappy original DVD release like the plague.
One nice touch I forgot to mention in my review...the DVD thankfully restores the awesome early-80's United Artists logo to the beginning of the film, whereas the previous DVD has the lamer 90's verion.
Anyways, it was treat to review my favorite movie, and to hopefully inspire others to give it a shot. _________________ Shut up and keep yer hands to yerself or I'll cut yer little pecker off.

Don't buy it for the widescreen version (the film looks much better-composed in fullscreen anyways), but it because the original DVD has a horrible transfer. If you A/B the two releases, you'll be shocked at how poor the first disc looked compared to the loving restoration provided here. _________________ Shut up and keep yer hands to yerself or I'll cut yer little pecker off.

I haven't read this review yet, and I probably won't. It's been a very long time since I've seen it so I want to rewatch this film and get a better understanding of how Monty ticks.
I hope it's fascinating. _________________ These movies just seem too 'Noto' for me.

This is only tangenitally related to NIMH, but fuck it, it's cool news for Don Bluth fans...
I watched this short film on YouTube tonight, and was delighted to discover in the comments section that this DVD actually exists, let alone with the kind of extra features that were sorely lacking on the NIMH DVD. It's a sweet little film that I suspect no one here would be even slightly interested in, but Bluth fans ought to be happy to finally see this on disc. _________________ Shut up and keep yer hands to yerself or I'll cut yer little pecker off.

You need to get married and have a kid so that this stuff isn't so creepy. _________________
