Very thorough and good review, Noto. I'm ashamed to say that I have never seen an Esther Williams film. I know who she was. I was in on the joke in History of the World Part I, but I've never watched one.
I should probably change that.

Go with Bathing Beauty if you're gonna watch one.
It's my favorite film on the set and will probably get spun many more times.
I have the original Australian daybill for Bathing Beauty in reasonably good condition just begging for me to frame it. It's far and away the oldest poster I have (1944).
