This week is giving away Diary Of The Dead and Night Of The Living Dead to one lucky winner!
Shooting the dead took on a whole new meaning when
George A. Romero’s all-new innovative horror flick DIARY OF THE DEAD debuted on DVD May 20th under the Dimension Extreme label from Genius Products and The Weinstein Company. “Hands down, the horror film to beat this year” (Bloody-disgusting.com), the fifth and latest sequel to Romero’s highly successful and popular franchise, DIARY OF THE DEAD returns to the form and feel of the original classic.
While shooting their own low-budget horror movie, a group of young film students run into real-life zombies, ravenously walking corpses attacking and killing the living. Presented in a first-person style that heightens the reality of each encounter, the entire film is seen through footage from the students’ camcorders, cell phones, security cameras and news footage. “One of the most daring, hypnotic and absolutely vital horror films of the past decade,” (Fangoria.com) DIARY OF THE DEAD features voiceover talent from a who’s who of horror and film mavens including Quentin Tarantino (Death Proof, Planet Terror), Guillermo del Toro (Hell Boy), Wes Craven (The Hills Have Eyes, Nightmare On Elm Street) and author Stephen King (The Stand, The Shining), among others. The DIARY OF THE DEAD DVD bonus features include an optional audio commentary by George A. Romero, character confessions, a making of and the top five Myspace contest shorts, and will be priced at $24.95.
Marking the anniversary of Romero’s seminal and original zombie film, the NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD 40TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION DVD also debuted May 20th, featuring a fully restored and remastered version of the original 1968 classic film and bonus materials, overseen by the master himself. Crawling with interviews and multiple featurettes, the NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD: 40TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION DVD is available for the suggested retail price of $19.97.
