Based on the book by Richard Doyle, the multi-million dollar production features elaborate CG special effects and exciting action sequences involving 30 tons of water, 27 sets with water and four large water tanks. The stellar cast, under the direction of Tony Mitchell (TV’s Supervolcano), includes Robert Carlyle (The Full Monty, Trainspotting), Tom Courtenay (The Golden Compass), Joanne Whalley (Scandal, Dance with a Stranger), David Suchet (The Bank Job) and Jessalyn Gilsig (TV’s Heroes) in the tension-packed story of a rugged marine engineer, his estranged father, and his ex-wife who come together in order to save London from the brink of annihilation. Flood, which was released theatrically in England, debuted domestically December 16, 2007 on the ION Television Network.

SYNOPSIS
When a raging storm coincides with high seas, it unleashes a colossal tidal surge, which travels mercilessly down England’s East Coast and into the Thames Estuary, overwhelming the Barrier. Torrents of water engulf the city. The lives of millions are at stake. Top marine engineer, Rob (Carlyle), his father, and his ex-wife come together and have only two hours to drain the city of water and save a city from total destruction. With global warming, rising sea levels, intensifying storms and other real-life issues making headlines on a daily basis, Flood takes viewers to the heart of a catastrophe that seems both unimaginable and yet all too possible in today’s world.
